BRACHYCEPHALIC DOG INFO
Brachycephalic is really a fancy way of saying, shortened head. The dog breeds included in this are: Pugs, Bulldogs (French and English), Boxer Dogs, Boston Terriers, Pekingese, Lhasa Apsos, Shih Tzus, and Bull Mastiffs. Although Pugs are some of the cutest dogs ever, they do come with some health risks due to the shortened face. Some of the risks are, difficulty breathing, sensitivity to extreme weather and the possibility of having Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS). This is by no means saying these are bad dogs, we kind of love them, but us just trying to help everyone understand a little more about our furry friends. We have attached two websites that go into more detail about these issues and the third website is a link to our veterinarian who is very knowledgeable and helpful if you want to talk to someone with first hand medical experience.
